Introduction

The purpose of this master’s program is to train managers with the skills and a transversal vision of sustainable development issues. Five specializations are offered: Environmental Management and Sustainable Development (GEDD):Learn by practical training to manage environmental issues by integrating all dimensions of sustainable development. Atmospheric Pollution, Climate Change, Health Impacts, Renewable Energy (AIR):Understanding the climate and energy future of the Earth in order to adapt our societies and our behaviors. Geoplanning, spatial planning and sustainability (GEOPRAD): Scientific reasoning for regions to be able to anticipate their future. Hydotechnology and environmental project management (Hydroprotech): Manage hydrotechnical and environmental projects. Euro Hydroinformatics and Water Management (EUROAQUAE):To qualify internationally for hydroinformatics and water management. The courses are mostly taught by professionals who share their knowledge and experiences.

GEDD The GEDD track trains practitioners in the management of environmental issues, and the integration of all dimensions of sustainable development: - Adopting an integrative approach to the scientific, technical, legal and administrative dimensions of the environment in a context of sustainable development, - Operational through field applications and two years of work experience, - Having a team spirit, independence, able to adapt to change and communicate, and to act responsibly, - Capable of managing and supporting, within the framework of the mission entrusted to them, sustainable development projects thanks to the methodology and tools of project management, - Able to be involved in the Sustainable Development strategy of a company or regional authority. AIR - Know and evaluate the issues related to the sustainable management of the environment. - Advise on a project for planning the location of a polluting activity - Diagnose the wind or solar potential of a site - Manage the natural risks linked to climatic hazards - Guide decision-makers for the management of air pollution in their region - Establish weather forecasts - Establish a geographic information system - Measure the orders of magnitude of energy issues on a global and national scale GEOPRAD - Know and evaluate the issues related to urban planning and development projects and the sustainable management of the environment. - Plan the future changes in a region by taking into account the spatial dimension of the phenomena and processes that are happening there. - Constitute, manage and process quantitative and qualitative information related to sustainable land management (SIG). - Master the techniques of digital processing of geographic information (geomatics, spatial modeling). - Know how to integrate the scientific processing of images, the quantitative analyses and the simulations of mathematical models in the process of development and follow-up of policies and development projects. HYDROPROTECH This track takes place over 2 years. The second year specialization, devoted to urban waters, occupies a full year, from September to September. The first semester, from September to February, is devoted to theoretical and practical courses at Polytech Nice-Sophia. The second semester is devoted to an internship in a company with a minimum duration of 5 months. This internship, supervised by a member of the teaching team and a professional from the host company, can be conducted abroad. EUROAQUAE - Know all the components of water management - Master the hydroinformatic tools - Be qualified in the applied water resources - Understand and analyze the problems of water management

The GEDD track The GEDD knowledge is based on offered courses made up of students from very different backgrounds. Students trained in so-called "hard" sciences (geology, biology, physics, etc.) work alongside students who have followed a course in human and social sciences (geography, economics, law) but also professionals (2 or 3 per year) in continuing education The students are year-long CDD apprentices who share their time between the company and the university according to a timetable that allows them to find a learning contract that is often distant to Nice. The apprenticeship gives true immersion in professional life and gives students genuine recognition within the company. The AIR trackprepares managers who are able to understand the various problems related to the atmospheric portion of the environment and its management such as energy transition, climate change and other climate-related risks, air pollution and their impacts, environmental and health issues. The AIR track enables the development of knowledge in the following areas: - Natural hazards (erosion / fire / climate change) - Health pollution (measurements of pollutants / health impacts) - Fundamental mechanisms (atmospheric chemistry, atmospheric circulation) - Modeling (meteorological and chemical) - Environmental expertise (Environmental Management Systems, geopolitical climate, natural risks law) The GEOPRAD trackfocuses on innovative approaches to analyzing, planning and anticipating the future of regions, particularly in terms of emerging issues for their sustainable development. It trains managers, able make logical decsions, and having a dual competence: in treatment and in modeling of the spatial information; but also, in urban planning. The GEOPRAD track prepares students for the following activities: - The development and management of regions on different scales (the district, the city, the regional area) - The prospective evaluation of regional plans and policies - Spatial sector studies and analyses (in the areas of resource management, local development, management of transport networks, geomarketing, etc.). - The management of development projects and urban planning in the public and in the private sector - The development of analytical, predictive and prospective models with a spatial dimension - The development of GIS solutions and the management of spatialized databases The HYDROPROTECH track Semester 1: Quantitative hydrology; Applied hydraulics, Geosciences 1; Environment; SHES Semester 2: Geosciences 2; Onsite training; Hydraulic; SHES; Internship / or foreign semester + internship / or extended internship Semester 3: Hydrological and Hydraulic Modeling; Operational methodologies; Regulatory framework; Operational projects; Urban networks (SSE route); HydroComputing Course Semester 4: Internship The EUROAQUAE trackis mainly taught in English by international experts. It provides cutting-edge instruction on the use of hydrocomputing tools for intelligent water management. This training program is co-sponsored by 5 universities around the world provides a working platform for stakeholders to interact and exchange. The EUROAQUAE track is focused on the need to train the next generation of highly qualified professionals in applied water resources in order to meet the needs of the labor market in Europe and around the world. The program is organized as a pedagogic continuum: Mobility is a fundamental concept of the course. It is used to develop and promote a common vision and professional capacity through a variety of specializations.
